The Savannah Swamp Foxes got a strong performance from pitcher C J Nitkowski, who stymied the Columbus offense en route to a 3-1 win at Paradise Grounds. Nitkowski went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-1. Their 17-20 record puts the Swamp Foxes 5th in the Atlantic Southeast.
The Swamp Foxes got a big at-bat from first baseman Jacob Cruz. For the game, Cruz went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
