Moonshiners Jolt Blue Crabs with Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Asheville Moonshiners and the Ocean City Blue Crabs, Matt Beech was the difference-maker. The Asheville left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 win. Asheville reliever Rocky Coppinger picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Brian Bevil absorbed the loss. Asheville has now won 3 straight, while the Blue Crabs have lost 3 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Moonshiners had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the ninth, when center fielder Ricky Ledee hit a solo home run. The home run came off Brian Bevil and made the score 2-1, Moonshiners. Ledee was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
