McMillon Helps Moonshiners Run Win Streak to 7
Billy McMillon left his imprint on the 11-9 Asheville win against the Hartford Whalers. McMillon, who is tied for 10th in the ATL with a .412 on-base percentage, went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 6. Asheville reliever Juan Nieves was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Jack Armstrong took the loss for Hartford. Jeff Juden earned the save, his 7th, for the Moonshiners.

Asheville used the clutch hitting of Doug Mientkiewicz to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to give the Moonshiners the lead, 2-1. For the game, Mientkiewicz had 1 single and 2 doubles in 4 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Mientkiewicz.

The Moonshiners have now won 7 straight.
