Cyclones Prove Rude Guests, Win 7-2 at Asheville
Brooklyn starter David Cone pitched effectively against the Asheville Moonshiners at Torrance Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a 7-2 win. Brooklyn is now 19-27, Asheville 21-25.

It could have been a different outcome for Brooklyn, had it not been for Darrin Fletcher, the 31-year old catcher . Fletcher contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Brooklyn up, 2-0.

"I know we have our doubters," said Asheville manager . "But I still have high hopes for this team."
