Mack Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Rochester in Walk-Off Win
|
Hartford got a terrific performance from pitcher Shawn Estes, but it wasn't enough to beat the Rochester Red Wings. Rochester won the Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale contest, 3-2. Estes was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. The Red Wings sit in last place in the Atlantic Northeast with a record of 13-48.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Quinn Mack had a chance to end it. Hartford pitcher Steve Connelly had other ideas. But with one out, Mack hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Red Wings had the win.
"We found a way to get it done," Mack said.
