The Hartford Whalers dealt the Rochester Red Wings a 14-6 loss at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. Damian Jackson was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4. Hartford reliever Chris Holt got the win, raising his record to 5-3. Chris Michalak was tagged with the loss. Hartford is now 35-27, Rochester 13-49.

Hartford used the clutch hitting of Hanley Frias to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Whalers the lead, 7-6. For the game, Frias had 1 single and 1 double in 2 at-bats.

"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Jackson said.
