Simmons Excels, But Otters Win
Despite a great performance by Brooklyn center fielder Brian Simmons, the Milwaukee Otters defeated the Cyclones by the score of 10-8 at Stags Ballpark. Simmons went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Milwaukee reliever Todd Ritchie was the winner. His record is now 6-2. The losing pitcher was Todd Erdos. The Otters own a robust 45-24 mark.

Howard Battle had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the eighth, when he hit a 2-run triple. His 4th triple of the season put Milwaukee on top, 10-8.

"We got the victory," said Battle. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
