Moonshiners Trounce Red Wings, 14-2
The Rochester Red Wings extended their losing streak with a loss to the Asheville Moonshiners.

The Asheville Moonshiners clobbered the Rochester Red Wings, 14-2, at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale today. Asheville first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz was named player of the game for his productive day. He was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Masaki Saito got the win, improving to 1-13. He held the Red Wings to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4.

Asheville used the timely hitting of Jolbert Cabrera to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Moonshiners on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cabrera.

The slumping Red Wings have dropped 8 in a row.
