Whalers Need Extras to Top Suns
|
Hartford beat Jacksonville at Field of the Running Rebels, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Keith Osik, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with 4 singles. The second-place Whalers have won 4 in a row.
Hartford relied on the hitting of David Bell to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Whalers on top, 5-4. For the game, Bell had 1 triple and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Bell said.
