It was a fun time at Comiskey Park, where the Chicago Cubs and Charlotte Knights tangled.

Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Jason Giambi, the Charlotte Knights defeated the Chicago Cubs, 12-6. Giambi went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Knights. Steve Shirley was credited with the save for Charlotte, his 1st of the season.

With Charlotte leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Giambi hit a changeup from Scott Chiamparino for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Knights ahead, 4-0.

"Enjoyed this one," Giambi told the Charlotte Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

With the win, Charlotte improves its record to 1-1.
