Clippers Beat Visiting Moonshiners, 5-2
Columbus Clippers starter Roy Halladay was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Asheville Moonshiners, 5-2. Halladay got the win, improving to 10-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Halladay allowed 2 earned runs. Vladimir Nunez got the save, his 21st in 25 chances.

Had Tom Lampkin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lampkin hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Clippers.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Columbus manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."

Columbus occupies 4th place in the Atlantic Northeast at 50-49.
