Swamp Foxes Walk Off with Win
|
People near Paradise Grounds no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
Savannah Swamp Foxes starter David Nied was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Columbus Clippers, 3-2. The Swamp Foxes bumped their record to 54-48 with this latest triumph.
Savannah took a 3-2 lead on Edgard Clemente's 83rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Clemente hit in the bottom of the 11th, left Columbus pitcher Vladimir Nunez shaking his head.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Clemente.
