Blue Crabs Jolt Moonshiners with Late Rally
|
Ocean City beat Asheville on the strength of starter Jamie Brewington's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Brewington got the win, improving to 10-4. He allowed 9 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Brewington allowed 3 earned runs. The Blue Crabs now have a record of 59-43 with the win over Asheville.
Ocean City needed the clutch hitting of Ernie Young to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Crabs on top, 5-3. For the game, Young had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Brewington.
