Moonshiners Roll to 8-2 Win Over Blue Crabs
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Jolbert Cabrera, the Asheville Moonshiners defeated the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 8-2. Cabrera went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Moonshiners. Asheville reliever Jim Stoops picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Darrell May took the loss. At 37-66, the Moonshiners are currently last in the Atlantic Southeast.
Nelson Liriano had a big 2-run double for the Moonshiners in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Asheville leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a splitter from Julio Valera and stroked the double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Moonshiners ahead, 5-2.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Asheville skipper .
