Multi-HR Day for Cabrera as Phillies Overpower Cardinals, 11-6
Philadelphia shortstop Orlando Cabrera was instrumental in his team's 11-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Cabrera, who is tied for 5th in the FL in extra base hits with 11, went 2-3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Phillies. Glendon Rusch, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held the Cardinals to 6 earned runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The Cardinals fall to 9-11 and continue their lethargic start to the 1998 season.

One significant plate appearance for Philadelphia came with two out in the bottom of the second inning. Phillies catcher A J Pierzynski hit a 2-run home run, which helped Philadelphia go on to win.
