Dairy Daddies Deal Whalers Painful Loss
|
The Danville Dairy Daddies relied on the hitting of third baseman Akira Eto to stop the Hartford Whalers, 10-9. For the game, Eto was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Danville has now won 5 in a row.
The Dairy Daddies were down to their final out when right fielder Todd Hollandsworth turned a 2-2 sinker from Paul Wilson into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double made the Kernels Ballpark crowd go wild.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Hollandsworth told the Danville Today.
