McCracken Helps Whalers Run Win Streak to 4
|
The Hartford Whalers stopped the Asheville Moonshiners, 9-4, at Wolves Ballpark. The Whalers got a big game from Quinton McCracken, who went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The second-place Whalers have won 4 straight games.
With Hartford leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, McCracken hit a fastball from Ken Cloude for a run-scoring single. It was his 153rd hit of the season and put the Whalers ahead, 2-0.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said McCracken.
