Ortiz scores 3 runs, Dairy Daddies Move to 81-37
|
The Danville Dairy Daddies bested the Asheville Moonshiners by a score of 10-4, with designated hitter David Ortiz getting the main credit. On the day, Ortiz was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Dairy Daddies. Shinji Imanaka got the win, improving to 15-2. He held the Moonshiners to 4 earned runs on 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Danville has an impressive 81-37 record.
It could have been a different outcome for Danville, had it not been for Mike Cameron, the top prospect . Cameron contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Danville up, 3-0.
"We're one win closer to our goal," Cameron said in postgame remarks.
