Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox home opener. Brian Bohanon started for the home team against Trevor Wilson for the New Orleans Brass. The Sky Sox were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 6-1, New Orleans. Trevor Wilson was named player of the game. Wilson, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs.

New Orleans right fielder Willis Otanez contributed to the cause with a double in the top of the fifth. For the game, Otanez went 2-4 with a double.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Otanez told the New Orleans Daily News.
