The Salt Lake City Buzz handed the Idaho Falls Chukars a loss at Alleycats Ballpark. The final score was 10-8. Mike Neill was named player of the game for Salt Lake City. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Reliever Greg McCarthy picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jim Pittsley took the loss. Salt Lake City, now 3-1, has played well in the early going.
In the top of the sixth, with Salt Lake City trailing 6-4, third baseman Jose Oliva hit a 3-run home run. The hit came off Jim Pittsley and put the Buzz ahead, 7-6.
