Rainiers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Buzz
Tacoma beat Salt Lake City at Premont Grounds, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Ryan Dempster, who earned player of the game honors. The win pushes Tacoma to a record of 3-3.

Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Chad Fonville, hit a single. It helped Tacoma seize the win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Dempster said in his postgame press conference.
