The New Orleans Brass relied on the hitting of left fielder Ruben Sierra to stop the San Antonio Missions, 6-2. For the game, Sierra was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jeff Tam earned the save, his 2nd. The win brings the Brass to 7-4, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The tide might have turned with one out in the top of the fourth, had not Trevor Wilson made a big pitch. With the bases loaded and the Missions trailing 3-1, he retired Scarborough Green, who hit into a double play.
