Guillen Helps Rainiers Run Win Streak to 4
|
Spirited fans at Tuttle Fields greeted the Portland Stag for their clash with the Tacoma Rainiers.
Jose Guillen helped his team muscle past the Portland Stag, 6-1. In the game, the Tacoma right fielder went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Tacoma starter Greg Keagle was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.
The Rainiers got a lift from designated hitter Jason Bates who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning off Dave Burba. It was his 6th RBI of the season and put Tacoma in front, 1-0.
"I like our moxie," said Rainiers manager .
Tacoma, now 5-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.
