The Colorado Springs Sky Sox picked up a win at Motors Ballpark, knocking off the Nashville Sounds, 7-1. Starting pitcher Jesus Sanchez played a key role in the triumph. The Sounds fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 1998 season.

David Dellucci had a big 2-run single for the Sky Sox in the bottom of the third inning. With Colorado Springs leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Pete J. Smith and stroked the single to left-center. It was his 11th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sky Sox ahead, 3-0.

"We did a lot of things right," said Dellucci.
