Multi-HR Game for Hidalgo in 6-4 Win
|
The Cleveland Spiders and Kansas City Royals cranked it up at League Park.
The Kansas City Royals topped the Cleveland Spiders, 6-4, with right fielder Richard Hidalgo playing a big role. Hidalgo went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Royals in the win. The win was credited to Gregg Olson in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Steve Karsay took the loss. Armando Benitez got credit for the save for Kansas City. It was his 10th of the year.
Hidalgo had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 changeup from Steve Karsay, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Royals a 6-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Hidalgo.
"It feels good to get this one," Hidalgo told the Kansas City Today.
The Royals, now 18-4, have stormed out of the gates.
