Victory Pushes Sky Sox Record to 12-12
|
The Tacoma Rainiers got a sterling performance from second baseman Mike Mordecai, but the Sky Sox still prevailed, 5-2. Mordecai was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kirt Ojala, credited with the win, is now 1-2. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. Curtis King locked down his 5th save.
Having an impact for Colorado Springs was David Dellucci. In the top of the first inning, the 24-year old left fielder had a 2-run single to make the score 2-0, Sky Sox.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Colorado Springs manager .
With the loss, Tacoma drops to 13-11.
