The Nashville Sounds got a superb performance from pitcher Jeremy Powell, but the Salt Lake City Buzz still won the game, 6-4. Powell was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Donnie Elliott earned the save for Salt Lake City, his 2nd of the year. At 16-13, the Buzz find themselves in third place in the Pacific West.
The most important at-bat for Salt Lake City came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Shane Andrews reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 2 runs, putting Salt Lake City up, 6-4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Andrews told the Salt Lake City Today. "It's as simple as that."
