The Nashville Sounds stopped the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-4, at Premont Grounds. The Sounds got a big game from George Lombard, who went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Earning his 6th save for Nashville was Mitch Williams. Nashville now owns a record of 15-23.
Lombard came through for the Sounds in the top of the ninth inning. With Nashville leading 5-4, the center fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 6-4, Nashville.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Lombard said.
