Walk-Off Victory for Marlins Takes Record to 14-7
|
Pitcher Kevin Appier was sensational for the Florida Marlins in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Minnesota Twins. Appier received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Appier went 10 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-1. Florida is now 14-7.
In the bottom of the tenth inning with one out, Florida right fielder Rondell White hit a walk-off 2-run home run. It made the score 3-1, Marlins. For the day, White was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," White said.
