Late Rally by Chukars Secures Win
|
Idaho Falls Chukars starter Phil Leftwich was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-3. Leftwich got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 9 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Leftwich allowed 3 earned runs. The Chukars improved to 15-23.
Marcus Jensen's at-bat in the bottom of the eighth was significant, coming with a runner on 1st and the game tied, 2-2. The Idaho Falls catcher hit a 2-run home run off Donnie Elliott to put the Chukars up.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Leftwich.
