River Rats Topple Brass with Late Rally
|
The Spokane River Rats picked up a win at Foxes Ballpark, knocking off the New Orleans Brass, 4-3. Starting pitcher Scott Eyre played a key role in the triumph. Ricky Trlicek picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Luis Aquino was tagged with the loss. With the win, the River Rats improved to 28-13.
One of the biggest contributors for Spokane was center fielder Devon White. In the bottom of the ninth, with the bases loaded, White got a full count fastball and reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. That put the River Rats on top, 4-3.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," White said.
