San Antonio third baseman Kelly Gruber made his presence felt in the 9-6 Missions triumph over the New Orleans Brass. Gruber went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Scott Erickson was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. Picking up the save was Terry Mathews, his 6th.

Gruber put San Antonio up, 9-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Jason Dickson in the bottom of the fourth. His 5th home run of the season helped the Missions capture the win.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Gruber. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

San Antonio leads the Pacific Central by 2 games.
