Idaho Falls starter Rich Hunter pitched effectively against the Spokane River Rats at Alleycats Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Jeff Schwarz finished the game for Idaho Falls and earned his 7th save. The Chukars, now 18-24, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Hunter was in the zone all game. He frustrated Spokane hitters while giving the Chukars 8 innings of quality work. Hunter threw 109 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Idaho Falls manager .
