Mike Simms was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Idaho Falls Chukars. The designated hitter belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Spokane River Rats. Spokane leads the Pacific West by 3½ games.

With Spokane leading 4-1 in the top of the fourth, Simms hit a curveball from Jim Pittsley for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the River Rats ahead, 6-1.
