Missions Need Extra Frames to Get Past River Rats
Mo Vaughn added some punch to the San Antonio offense, helping them outmuscle the Spokane River Rats, 15-12. In the game, Vaughn, who is tied for 10th in the PAC in runs scored with 32, was 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The win was credited to Terry Mathews in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Billy Taylor took the loss. Earning his 10th save of the year was Mauro Gozzo.

Kelly Gruber was 2 for 6 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for San Antonio . In a tie game with no one out in the top of the tenth, Gruber came through with a 3-run home run. It put the Missions in front, 15-12.
