The Minnesota Twins knocked off the Milwaukee Creams, 9-4, at Metrodome. Frank Thomas, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Minnesota won. The first baseman went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Creams fall to 9-14 and continue their uneven start to the 1998 season.

Minnesota second baseman Brent Gates had a key at-bat for the Twins in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Milwaukee pitcher Jose J. Bautista, Gates hit a 3-run home run to make the score 7-4, Minnesota. For the day, he went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Thomas.
