Storm Chasers Edge Past Chukars, 4-3
|
Fans who gathered at Alleycats Ballpark saw a good contest between the Omaha Storm Chasers and Idaho Falls Chukars.
Omaha pitcher Sidney Ponson did his part in helping his team beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 8 innings, Ponson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. Mike Cather earned the save, his 11th, for the Storm Chasers.
Chris Hatcher had a nice at-bat for the Storm Chasers with one out in the top of the eighth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the left fielder hit a run-scoring single, which would prove important in the Omaha win.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Hatcher told the Omaha Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
The winning streak has now reached 7 games for Omaha.
