New Orleans got a terrific performance from pitcher Angel Miranda, but it wasn't enough to beat the Salt Lake City Buzz. Salt Lake City won the Bay Hawks Ballpark contest, 3-2. Miranda was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. Bob Howry got credit for the save for Salt Lake City. It was his 11th of the year. Their 29-24 record puts the Buzz third in the Pacific West.

Salt Lake City used a timely hit from Reggie B. Williams to get the win. The center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Buzz on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Feels good to get the job done," Williams said after the game.
