Buzz Get Close Win Over Tarantulas
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Tucson Tarantulas, 9-5, at Ballpark of Louisville today. Leading the charge for Salt Lake City was shortstop Shane Andrews. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Salt Lake City reliever Donnie Elliott picked up the win to move to 1-4. Dave Veres suffered the loss. The Buzz now have a record of 33-26 with the win over Tucson.
Andrews had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 changeup from Keith Foulke, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Buzz a 7-5 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Andrews.
"If it's down the middle," said Andrews, "you might as well hit it."
