In a tight game between the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Naperville Lazy Fisherman, nobody was more important for the winners than Pokey Reese. Reese, who received player of the game accolades for the Lazy Fisherman, was masterful in the 2-0 win. The second-place Lazy Fisherman improved to 34-26.

It could have been a different outcome for Naperville, had it not been for Chance Sanford, the 26-year old second baseman . Sanford contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Naperville up, 1-0.

"The old adage is true," said Reese. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
