Sounds Win at Salt Lake City, 5-2

The Nashville Sounds beat the Salt Lake City Buzz, 5-2, at Bella Vista Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Donnie Sadler, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Eric Weaver got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. The last-place Sounds have won 4 in a row.
Carlos Mendoza, who is tied for 9th in the PAC in bases on balls with 27, came through for Nashville with a solo home run in the top of the first. The left fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Mendoza said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
