The Salt Lake City Buzz stopped the Nashville Sounds, 16-10, behind an impressive performance from Jose Oliva. The 27-year old third baseman made life miserable for Nashville pitching. He went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The win was credited to Greg McCarthy in relief. His record improves to 6-0. Jay Powell took the loss. Salt Lake City is now 34-27. Nashville is 24-37.

With one out in the top of the sixth, George Lombard had a chance to do some damage. Nashville was trailing 15-5, but had the bases loaded. Lombard came to the plate against Greg McCarthy, and grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough to complete a Nashville comeback.
