Idaho Falls got a strong outing from Rich Hunter as the Chukars defeated the San Antonio Missions, 2-1, at Alleycats Ballpark. In 5 innings, Hunter surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Kenny Rogers notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Idaho Falls took a 2-0 lead on Ed Giovanola's 75th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Giovanola hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Antonio pitcher Allan Anderson shaking his head.
"Enjoyed this one," Giovanola told the Idaho Falls News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The 5th-place Chukars have won 5 straight games.
