Sky Sox Sneak Past Storm Chasers, 5-4
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox picked up a win at Maples Stadium, knocking off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-4. Starting pitcher John Snyder, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The win was credited to Jamie Walker in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Scott Arnold took the loss. Colorado Springs is third in the Pacific Central with a record of 31-33.
Colorado Springs used the clutch hitting of Dmitri Young to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Sky Sox the lead, 5-4. For the game, Young had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Young told the Colorado Springs News.
