Brass Roll Over Lazy Fisherman, 9-4
|
The New Orleans Brass grabbed a 9-4 win over the Naperville Lazy Fisherman at Ballpark of Milton. New Orleans left fielder Ruben Sierra went 2-4 with a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 to earn player of the game honors. New Orleans is now 39-26, Naperville 37-28.
New Orleans used the timely hitting of Randy Velarde to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Brass on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It feels good to get this one," Sierra told the New Orleans Daily News.
