Buzz Come Back Late to Clip River Rats
The Salt Lake City Buzz eked out a 5-4 win versus the Spokane River Rats at Foxes Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Hideki Irabu, who captured player of the game honors. Irabu went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-4. After today's action, Salt Lake City sits at 35-30, while Spokane falls to 38-27.

The Buzz used some clutch hitting to beat the River Rats, a good example being the at-bat of Shane Andrews in the top of the ninth. With two down, Andrews gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"It was a good effort all around," said Andrews.
