River Rats Jolt Sky Sox with Late Rally
|
The Spokane River Rats stopped the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 7-5, at Motors Ballpark. The River Rats got a big game from Devon White, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Spokane reliever Joel Johnston was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Jeff Tabaka took the loss. Matt Whisenant was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 11 save opportunities.
Alberto T Castillo contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 2nd, he drew a walk. It was one at-bat that helped Spokane get the win.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," White told the Spokane Chronicle. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
Spokane goes to 40-28. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
