Tarantulas Get One-Run Win at Naperville
|
Ballpark of Milton was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Tucson Tarantulas and the Naperville Lazy Fisherman.
Tucson beat Naperville at Ballpark of Milton, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Ray McDavid, who earned player of the game honors. Rick Krivda was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Keith Foulke notched his 17th save in 18 chances.
Ralph Milliard had a nice at-bat for the Tarantulas with two out in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 2nd, the second baseman hit a run-scoring single, which would prove important in the Tucson win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Tucson manager .
Their 35-34 record puts the Tarantulas 4th in the Pacific West.
