Storm Chasers Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Tarantulas
|
In a close game at Ballpark of Louisville, the Omaha Storm Chasers edged the Tucson Tarantulas, 5-4. Omaha designated hitter Carlos Febles earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Geremi Gonzalez, who threw 107 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits. Getting the save was Scott Arnold, his 3rd.
Omaha used the timely hitting of Ramon E Martinez to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Storm Chasers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a good effort all around," said Febles.
The win boosts the Storm Chasers to 36-36. The loss puts the Tarantulas at 35-37.
