Loss Extends Tucson Losing Streak
|
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox racked up a win at Motors Ballpark, bumping off the Tucson Tarantulas, 6-3. Brian Bohanon, who started for Colorado Springs, pitched effectively for his team. In 7 innings, Bohanon surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Curtis King converted his 15th save in 15 tries.
Lou Collier had a big 2-run double for the Sky Sox in the bottom of the second inning. With Colorado Springs leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from James Baldwin and stroked the double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sky Sox ahead, 3-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Collier, "and today was a good one for us."
The Tarantulas, now 35-41, have lost 7 straight.
